Formula's

1. Average means the airthmetic mean of the items
Avg = Sum of items/No. of items
eg. avg of 4,3,5 is sum of no. i.e 12 / No. of items i.e 3 = 4
2. When the difference bw all the items is same then avg of items is equal to n+1/2 item ,Where n is the no. of items
eg. 3,6,9,12,15 these are the items having same difference that is 3.
so,its avg will be n+1/2 here n is 5 so 5+1/2 i.e 6/2item i.e 3rd item is the avg

Some Useful Points to remember

1. If x is added to all the items then the avg increases by x.
2. If x is subtracted from all the items then the avg decreases by x.
3. If every item is multiplied by x then the avg is multiplied by x
